Yes, there are three different episodes featuring Dr. Daniel Amen because I find his research & what he does fascinating. I wish more people knew about him! During the past few months I have found a lot of encouragement and motivation while listening to these podcasts and going walking for several miles. There’s nothing like a little exercise, fresh air and an educational talk to turn my day around! It really does put me in a positive and motivated mindset. Even better if I can do that in the morning and set the tone for my day. What podcasts are you listening to? Comment down below!

Books

  1. Dare to Lead by Brené Brown
  2. Power of Vulnerability:  Teachings of Authenticity, Connection, and Courage by Brené Brown (audiobook)
  3. Start with Why by Simon Sinek
  4. So You Want To Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo
  5. The Moment of Lift by Melinda Gates

There are definitely a lot more but these are just a few that stood out to me. It is important to continue to educate yourself in a variety of ways. These are only five books, and they span different topics. I absolutely love Brené Brown and I highly recommend that everyone read at least one of her books. (or check out one of her very popular Ted Talks & Netflix special). Simon Sinek’s books are amazing for leadership, business owners or for anyone wanting to have a deeper understanding of what drives them. I have also been trying to educate myself in understanding systematic racism & racial inequality, Ijeoma Oluo’s book is a great place to start. Since I was born and raised in the Seattle area, I have always been interested in Bill & Melinda Gates and where their endeavors take them. Melinda’s book is a call to action to empower women all over the world. It highlights stories from her own life and the lives of women she meets all over the world. Check out more of what she and her husband are doing at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. (And visit the free museum whenever you are in Seattle!)
