October Favorites

I can’t believe it’s already November! It always seems like the last three months of the year go by so fast. Now that we are in a new month, I wanted to share some things I’ve been loving in October!

Food + Drink

Camano Island Coffee Roasters makes my all-time favorite coffee! I don’t add anything to my coffee and I drink it every morning. This is USDA organic, shade-grown, specialty grade top 1% arabica and fairly traded coffee! This is seriously the best coffee I’ve ever had. I love it so much I get it shipped regularly to my front door! I love that because it is roasted and shipped within 24 hours. I also order the whole beans so that I can grind it fresh.

Hippeas : This is my new favorite snack! I recently found these at Costco but you can also get them on Amazon. They are certified Gluten-Free, vegan, non-GMO, no nuts & no soy! I am lactose-intolerant so it’s great to find things that have a ‘cheesy’ flavor without the cheese!

Nom Nom Paleo Book : While I’m not strictly Paleo all the time, my husband and I try to make a lot of paleo meals at home. I feel better when I don’t have dairy and tons of heavy carbs! This book has always been my go-to for healthy eating. My favorite recipe is chicken curry in a hurry!

Self Care

Kneipp Bath Salts: It has been getting colder here in Seattle! During this time of year, I love to take hot baths. These bath salts are amazing. To make it even more of a relaxing experience I light a candle. My current favorite is Frosted Cranberry from Bath & Body Works.

Neck & Back Massager: If I don’t have time for a long soak in the bath, this Neck & Back Massager does the trick! I find that it really does a good job. I like that it has a heating element as well. Get one for yourself and someone else as a gift!

Reading + Listening

I am currently reading The Moment of Lift by Melinda Gates. This is an amazing book about how empowering women changes the world. She goes through her experiences and work with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It’s an inspirational read full of powerful stories and research. If you are ever in the Seattle area, go check out the Discovery Center (Free!) at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to learn more.

In addition to reading non-fiction, I love to learn and keep up to date through podcasts! These are my current favorites: Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, How I Built This, Goal Digger and RadioLab.
