Part One!

It is no surprise that there is an abundance of coffee shops in Seattle. Most people would associate Seattle with two things: rain & coffee! There are so many great coffee shops and cute cafes in Seattle and the Eastside (Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond). These are some of my favorite places to hang out and grab a latte, boba tea, or a bite to eat!

1. 203ºF Coffee Co

11901 NE Village, Plaza, Kirkland, WA 98034

This is a classic, stylish coffee shop in the heart of Kirkland’s up-and-coming mall The Village at Totem Lake. This cafe has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! This is a good option for a coffee date, or to get some work done! They pride themselves on high-quality, ethically sourced coffee. I tried a lavender latte here for the first time and it was delightful! Open 7AM-6PM Daily. Indoor & outdoor dining and takeout.

2. The Moo Bar

2124 Westlake Ave, Seattle, WA 98121

The Moo Bar probably takes the cake for the cutest cups! The name “Moo Bar” reflects the type of drink they primarily serve–milk teas! (otherwise known as bubble tea) They serve their fun boba drinks in glass mason jars, that feature different characters or animals. When I went they were doing a Corgi series (I’m not a dog person but they were still adorable), but they have also done Totoro & Sailor Moon! Check out their Instagram @themoobarseattle to see their selection (you can buy their merchandise online too!) Right now there is very limited outdoor seating only. So I say grab a bubble tea to go and walk around South Lake Union! Open 12-8 M-F & 12-6 Sat & Sun.

3. General Porpoise

Multiple Seattle Locations

It’s hard to say which cafe is the most Instagrammable but General Porpoise is definitely at the top! I love the bright & airy aesthetic of their marbled countertops and tables at their Capitol Hill location. Not only is this a super nice little spot to drink a latte, but they are also known for their doughnuts! They are light, fluffy, and simply heavenly! The Capitol Hill location has a decent amount of seating for a Seattle coffee shop. (Currently take out only).

4. Farine Bakery

16450 Redmond Way Ste 100, Redmond, WA 98052

Ever since my favorite Redmond bakery closed, I’ve been on the hunt for a new one and I think I may have found it! Farine’s mission is “to bring high quality breads, pastries, desserts and brasserie-style meals to our Eastside neighborhoods.” I love having a little slice of Europe in the town I live! They have a really pretty interior and outdoor seating. Check out their seasonal menu of Belgian and French-inspired drinks, pastries, and other bistro fares here! Currently open every day M-Th 7AM-3PM, Fr-Sun 7AM-5PM outdoor & limited indoor dining.

5. Atulea

1715 12th Ave #100, Seattle, WA 98122

This picturesque cafe is for all the matcha-loving Instagrammers out there! How could you not take a picture in front of their super cute and unique wallpaper? The whole interior is so charming and vibrant. I had so much fun visiting this little Seattle cafe (pre-pandemic!) and enjoying my matcha latte. They have lots of drink options if matcha isn’t your thing! They are only open for takeout right now (but hoping to have indoor soon!) so grab a drink to go and hang out at Cal Anderson Park across the street! Open 11AM-7PM. Closed Weds.

6. Bellden Cafe

10527 Main St, Bellevue, WA 98004

I can see why this Downtown Bellevue cafe is proclaimed as the “Nicest Place in Washington”. Bellden cafe has a kind & courteous staff and the food & drinks are divine. I love their tasteful decor and lots of plants throughout the space. They also partner with charities on their sales which is amazing to see. I really enjoyed reading the owner’s story here. It made me love this cafe even more! I think it will definitely be a staple cafe that I continue to return to. I find there is ample space if you want to grab a table to study or meet a friend! Open Daily 8AM-4PM. Indoor dining, limited outdoor dining & takeout.

7. Rachel’s Ginger Beer

Multiple Seattle Locations

When you hear RGB, you may think “Red Green Blue” but it stands for Rachel’s Ginger Beer around Seattle! I have only been to the U-Village location but that’s the one I keep coming back to for its convenient location to all the shops and easy parking. The interior is spacious, so it makes a great spot for UW students to get some studying done. If it’s nice out, I really enjoy sitting at their outdoor patio. RGB has so many ginger beer flavors, as well as fun cocktail creations! Make it a lunch outing with the amazing Ma’ono Fried Chicken located in the store! Rachel’s Ginger Beer has stores at U-village, Capitol Hill, Pike Place Market, and pop-ups at the Amazon spheres! Be sure to check the website as each location has different hours.

8. MeeTea Cafe

Seattle & Redmond Locations

For my final cute cafe on this list, I’m featuring another Boba shop! I went to their Eastside location in Redmond, WA. This one is conveniently located across the street from the Redmond Downtown Park so you can enjoy your bubble tea at the park! They have a delightful interior here as well. I appreciated that they had lactose-free options for their drinks! Downtown Redmond MeeTea Cafe is open 12PM-9PM daily with indoor dining, takeout & delivery.

Have you been to any of these cute cafes and coffee shops in Seattle or the Eastside? I would love to know! I hope you can visit one of these soon. There will be a part two coming later! What cafe should I try next? Comment down below!

  1. I’ve only ever been to Seattle and it was for one night. This post is great because a lot of people would just think of Starbucks. I love how pretty the coffee is at 203 F Coffee Co.
