Vancouver Travel Guide

There is so much to do in the big bustling waterfront city of Vancouver, British Columbia! Whether you’re into outdoor adventures, great shopping or a total foodie, there is a little something for everyone. Here are some places that I would recommend checking out!

Places to Go

Queen Elizabeth Park

This is a beautiful park to walk around! They have several lovely manicured gardens with lots of great spots to take pictures. They have a restaurant and an indoor conservatory as well. When my husband and I went it was a bit chilly after walking around for a while so heading into the Bloedel Conservatory was a nice reprieve.

Stanley Park

You can’t go to Vancouver without visiting Stanley Park! Now ‘park’ is putting it lightly. It’s big, and pretty much an island, which makes it very picturesque with all the water views. Walk around, drive around, bike around (or be fancy and take a horse-drawn carriage tour), you can spend a lot of time here! Have you never been here but recognize some of the sights? Lots of movies and tv shows are filmed in Vancouver, and specifically Stanley Park! The top-notch Vancouver Aquarium is located here as well. Check it out!

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

The Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a little bit of a drive north out of the main downtown Vancouver area, but it’s worth it! I found exploring the forest from up high to be a really fun and unique experience. Definitely check this place out at least once!

Granville Island

Bon Macaron Patisserie on Granville Island

This is a great spot to spend a few hours wandering around. The main attraction is the huge Public Market. There are lots of shops, food stalls, art & entertainment to explore here! Great spot for buying souvenirs and gifts!

Another great spot to go shopping is along Robson Street in the Downtown area. Of course there are a lot of popular chain stores you see everywhere, but there are some good spots like Roots if you’re looking for a Canadian souvenir. I also liked checking out Miniso and Muji, very cute stores!

Vancouver Christmas Market

If you are in Vancouver during Christmas time (End of November-December) then check out the Vancouver Christmas Market!

Where to Eat + Drink

Disco Cheetah

Disco Cheetah 1183 Davie St, Vancouver, BC V6E 1N2, Canada

  • The Korean Fried Baos and Fries were amazing! Affordable too!

Cactus Club Coal Harbour

1085 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC V6C 3E1, Canada

  • This is a good date night, nicer dinner spot. Make reservations well in advance!

Naruto Sushi

Naruto Sushi 2763 Commercial Dr, Vancouver, BC V5N 4C5, Canada

  • Awesome affordable sushi! Great service and quality food. It’s a small spot, so get there on the early or late side for whatever meal you’re going for. Close to Queen Elizabeth Park!

The Shameful Tiki Room

The Shameful Tiki Room 4362 Main St, Vancouver, BC V5V 3P9, Canada

Check this lively little bar out for rum drinks and tiki culture! There are traditional drinks like the “Original Trader Vic’s Mai Tai” as well as shared flaming drinks! Occasionally there’s “tiki sounds” and fog machine that goes off. It’s a super fun experience! (It is similar to Hale Pele in Portland, Oregon if you’ve ever been there).

There are SO MANY more good places to eat and areas to explore but these are just some of my personal favorites spanning my past two trips to Vancouver!
